I heard but didn’t listen

I looked but didn’t see

I ate but didn’t taste

I talked but didn’t speak

I touched but didn’t feel

I lived but had no life

I died to live again

So here I am trying to beat the curse

It’s the meth I use and it’s getting worse

I wonder when this nightmare will end

I no longer want to be meth’s friend

Without meth I wonder what I’ll do

How to live being clean, if only I knew

Far too long I have done this drug

I’m so ashamed I feel like a mug

My journey is long and hard for sure

The time has come to show meth the door!

Drunkeness is my name

Darkness is my game

Angry games I play

Come play and stay

You will like me anyway

When is the next bottle on its way?

Today at nine it’s mine

No family to explain but I feel the pain

My emotions are in motion

No sense of time and mine

In my own world I stay

To pay the price I could not say

Shaking like an earthquake

Sweating like a waterfall

Coldness like an ice cube

That’s why it’s nice to think twice

I felt like writing a bit of poetry actually,

so I sat down with my book,

and sat and looked,

a pondered thought of many things,

the things we’re taught,

the endless spring,

the bird that sings,

the birds on wing,

the likes of which no other thing…s,

are quite the same for many reasons,

changing often as the seasons,

first impressions,

works of art,

pure expressions,

from the heart,

that mean so much,

in many ways,

that say it all,

in all they say.

A peaceful thought,

of things to be.

from what we’re taught,

to what we see,

an urging on,

inspiring flow,

that very song,

of all we know.

To say we care,

to share a smile,

to be for now,

for quite a while,

to open up,

and not be shy,

to not to have to wonder why.

To not to have to ask how much,

to make a point,

to keep in touch.

To let your light shine bright and strong,

to do your best and carry on.

To give your best in every way,

to make the most of every day.

To take the time to look around,

whilst once was lost,

theist once is found.
